Well, there we were on the eve of the concert – final rehearsal – choir, band and crew working incredibly hard. This is the first time for many singing in a gospel choir!
The atmosphere is electric – even before the actual final performance and worship, much has been accomplished. Haha – I hope I haven’t ‘worked’ these dear folks too hard ?
We have been so blessed by the multiple testimonies of what has taken place in peoples lives throughout the last few days. There have been illnesses, sore voices, but these troops have soldiered through.
Yeah … very humbled to be here in Ukraine ??
So, ‘Gospel Express’ will go down in my historical journals as one of my most fulfilling events where dreams, visions and aspirations were realised. The essence of the young and old in one choir declaring the goodness of Jesus in Ukraine.
I have made many more new friends and do indeed celebrate great memories that will be etched in my heart forever … so. until the next event
On the 15th of June, two days short of the anniversary of Velveta’s admission to hospital before her recovery from a coma, both her and Bunmi Adeyeke were on Premier Radio ‘Woman To Woman’. They were interviewed by Deanna Fletcher who was standing in for Maria Rodrigues. It was an amazing passionate interview where both ladies communicated their passion for prayer and the results of a united church coming together to pray for the sick as well as our nation. Bunmi relayed how speedily she and her team were able to gather over 100 people on Whatsapp in order to organise a ’round-the-clock’ prayer vigil for Velveta. The prayer group is known as ‘Watchtower‘ and continues to pray 24/7, each prayer warrior invited to choose a 30-minute prayer slot.
If you missed the interview, you can still listen to the broadcast which will be available until 15th July. Please click on the link to listen.
BMI goes to Ukraine 2018 Update
Wow!!! What an awesome 10 days (spending more time away than normal – thank you Velveta). But I thank God for the opportunity to have met some really beautiful people in Romania & Ukraine. We have just come to the end of Music in Worship 2018 Conference.
200+ people gathered at The Ukraine Evangelical Theological Seminary (UETS), many new, including leaders from all over Ukraine.
The conference was jam-packed with so many various facets including Keynote seminars, workshops, a concert of prayer for the churches and nation of Ukraine, and even managed to complete a few demo recordings with some of the UETS students who are writing some great songs (watch the space!!!).
I feel very honoured to be part of the international team from the UK, the USA joining up with folks from Russia and Ukraine
I also joined a panel of Church leaders to talk about relationships between pastors and worship leaders, which was incredibly heart-moving as both Pastors and worship team members shared their hearts with excellent questions and answers. Another opportunity not only to teach but to observe and learn. Significance and success always begin firstly with a yielding to Christ’s headship and healthy leadership.
The last part of the conference involved Communion with everyone before blessing and the sending out of all the students and teachers.
Some had to leave early as they had travelled (not by plane) over 12 hours in order to attend the conference. Amazing!!!
On 4 – 8 October, BMI will be returning to Romania with eleven other members to faciliate a worship Conference at the Philidephia Church (More information to follow!) We are thankful for these key, significant open-doors to minister to our brothers and sisters in Eastern Europe.

Engaging and inspiring, On the Watch, will challenge any Christian who is tired of sitting still whilst darkness encroaches but rather wants to be a part of the change in the spiritual state of their local community or nation. It outlines the real-life practical steps taken by those involved in the revival that is just starting, providing insights into what has kept them constant in prayer and inviting the reader to embark upon the same journey.
