God is great! He is a miracle working God! In God, we continue to trust, and He continues to manifest His healing touch in Vel’s life. The last two days, in particular, we have seen great improvement in Vel’s health. On arriving at the hospital on 13th July, Velisha, Esther and I were present when Janet, the speech therapist came to assess Vel. After giving Vel a few instructions to follow, during which she kept on smiling, she said to Velveta, ‘You have done incredibly well and done it ALL on your own. There is no longer any reason for me to come back and see you again. Your eating is much better and you are speaking incredibly clear.’ God is great!

I met with two of Vel’s doctors yesterday (Ward doctor and Neurologist) and they have confirmed Velveta no longer needs to take antibiotics as they are happy the infection has totally cleared up in her body (though to date, the top Neurologist in the country still has no idea what they were fighting as they have never seen this type of bacterial attack!!!). No weapon formed against us shall ever prosper. They confirmed that they are pleasantly pleased how well she is recovering. There are a few medical challenges outstanding, but nothing that God will not continue to heal.

For the first time yesterday Vel asked, ‘What happened?’ We all welled up in tears telling Vel she has no idea of the journey we have all been on. Velisha, Esther and I had an incredible private family conversation and worship as Vel listened attentively, nodding her head and crying at times. We then roared in laughter when Velveta, in a true-Vel-style responded with the words, ‘Is the devil crazy?’ We laughed so much and worshipped some more.

Velveta’s brother Carl, and sister-in-law Carol, her mum and niece Nikki arrived at the hospital and were shocked to see how much Velveta has improved. We had a great family time together. Throughout the entire visit, Vel kept asking (demanding) for Ginger Beer – Lol! So, yesterday, after discussion with the medical team, the girls and I brought in some Ginger beer for Vel. We watched as she drank slowly and savoured every moment.

To all the intercessors, prayer teams, worship teams, churches, friends and so many from around the world, we want to say a huge thank you for staying with us throughout this continued journey. God has taught us so much and continue to show us how to strategically intercede, worship and navigate through His timing and methods of healing. We are amazed at how much the Father loves us and continues to reveal the bigger picture and understanding of waiting, believing and standing on His word – not looking at the circumstances, measuring the medical report versus our Faith in the Chief Surgeon.

Each day, Vel is getting stronger and now needs to build up her strength, muscles and eating via the assistant of the great medical team which includes many doctors, nurses, Physio specialist. We are thankful for this entire team. We have lost count of the many nurses that drop by from other wards to let Vel know how much they are praying for her. God continues to reveal His glory, majesty and authority.

We took a family picture, which the girls, Vel and I wanted to release so you can view the results of the four weeks to date of your prayers, intercession and WORSHIP. Please do not stop, especially for others (family members, friends, etc) who are also believing for God’s healing touch to be realised in their body, mind and spirit. God IS a miracle-working God. We want to continue protecting Vel’s privacy whilst in hospital but will show other pictures and videos in due course.

We want to continue protecting Vel’s privacy whilst in hospital but will show other pictures and videos in due course.

We continue to monitor all aspects of Vel’s recovery and will let you know when she will be able to receive short visits. Thank you all for your patience.

Psalms 25 says:

In you, Lord my God, I put my trust. I trust in you, do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame … Show me your ways, Lordteach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old.
