Romania 2018 Update

Romania 2018 Update

October 5th 2018 BMI for a ministry team and travelled to Romania to minister along with our good friend Pastor Gareth Sherwood and others who are joining us as part of the Romanian BMI Ministry team. We were joined by our good friends & lecturer colleagues from Ukraine Evangelical Theological Seminary (UETS) Myroslava Smetanyuk & Катя Симчук.

We delivered several masterclass, workshops and sermons. Our team also lead worship during the conference. This was an amazing ministry trip with quite a diverse team of very committed worship team members from City Gates and a few friends. Ukraine 2018 Update

Ukraine 2018 Update

Well, there we were on the eve of the concert – final rehearsal – choir, band and crew working incredibly hard. This is the first time for many singing in a gospel choir!
The atmosphere is electric – even before the actual final performance and worship, much has been accomplished. Haha – I hope I haven’t ‘worked’ these dear folks too hard ?
We have been so blessed by the multiple testimonies of what has taken place in peoples lives throughout the last few days. There have been illnesses, sore voices, but these troops have soldiered through.
Yeah … very humbled to be here in Ukraine ??

So, ‘Gospel Express’ will go down in my historical journals as one of my most fulfilling events where dreams, visions and aspirations were realised. The essence of the young and old in one choir declaring the goodness of Jesus in Ukraine.
I have made many more new friends and do indeed celebrate great memories that will be etched in my heart forever … so. until the next event

We welcome Jayda Grace Lynch

We welcome Jayda Grace Lynch

We welcome Jayda Grace Lynch

Well after a very arduous journey for Velisha & Jermaine, the Thompsons welcome their first grandchild Jayda Grace Lynch. Say’s Steve, ‘Gavin, Sonia, Velveta and I are so proud of Jermaine & Velisha! I am personally down with a very bad bout of flu, so have not as yet held my grandchild Jayda as yet, but Velveta & Esther, Sonia & Gavin have been visiting the hospital each day. Words cannot express our joy’

From Jermaine, ‘Yesterday, 31st January 2018 at 22:56 my daughter Jayda Grace Lynch was born weighing a healthy 7lbs1oz. Publicly want to honour my wonderful wife Velisha who carried our child for 9 months and went through 48 hours of trauma to deliver this little beauty! She’s is so perfect to us and we are really looking forward to getting to know her more. Pray for us!’

We will indeed pray for them as they start this new ‘family journey’ as Steve & Velveta did 25 years ago.

Psalm 139: 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Mother & baby are doing just fine!

Ukraine 2017 Mission Update

Ukraine 2017 Mission Update

Thank you

2017, 18 – 20 September, Steve Thompson embarked upon a mission trip to teach several lectures at the Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary (UETS). We at Beracahmusic Ministries International and casX would like to say a huge thank you to all the supporters who donated financially to this particular trip. The budget was met 100%.

Because of your generosity, all three years of the seminary were the benefits of five lectures per day, which included various subjects from Music Arranging, Music Sequencing, Band skills, the Theology of Worship, Keyboard skills (as seen in pictures), etc. The seminary is very thankful that we would consider sowing into not only the educational facility but the very nation itself. May God continue to bless the Ukraine.

Beneath you can watch a video of the students in their own words, expressing their thanks. We plan on revisiting the seminary in May & September 2018.

As mentioned in previous reports, they do not have exhaustive resources but are able to have such a huge impact on the nation.

Sometimes three students will share a keyboard and there is only one computer with music software. Therefore, BMI will be campaigning to raise funds to purchase more keyboards and a few second-hand mac computers with Logic Audio sequencing software.

Music In Ministry – Ukraine

Music In Ministry – Ukraine

In May 2017, Steve was invited by Fred Heuman, a friend for many years, to travel to Kiev, Ukraine to make up an International team. The worship conference ‘Music in Ministry‘ has been established for eight years now. Steve delivered several lectures and a few workshops. This is the first time Beracahmusic Ministries has travelled to the Ukraine (though 25 years ago, Steve was part of the Graham Kendrick team that delivered one of the first worship conferences in St. Petersburg, Russia).

During this trip to the Ukraine, hosted by the Ukraine Evangelical Theological Seminary the teaching impacted many, musicians, singers and worship leaders’ lives over three days (4 – 6 May). Such was the impact; Steve has been invited back in September 2017 to deliver specific training on Music Composition and arrangements (very similar topics he covers when teaching at London School of Theology). In fact, it was the conversation with the head of the Music Department at Seminary in Ukraine that triggered the possibility of Steve’s return trip in September.

As the economy is very challenging for many in the Ukraine, Beracahmusic Ministries International financed this trip to the conference in May as they also will this journey in September.

(We have also now partnered with the UETS to deliver several intensive courses over the next few years).

If you would like to support this venture on 18 – 24 September 2017, please click on the link beneath. As you will see from the pictures beneath, the Ukraine Evangelical Theological Seminary (UTES) is serving the nation by training, developing and transforming many lives, preparing these students also to impact their communities and beyond.

UTES Vision: To help ministers, worship leaders, and sound technicians manage music ministries in the local church.

UTES Mission: To professionally prepare musicians and worship team members for more effective ministry to the Lord.
