National Network of Pastoral Musicians Conference July 24-26 2026

A weekend conference for all involved in music ministry. Through discussion, idea-sharing, and singing together with one heart and one voice, participants may develop their musical skills and contribute to a sense of community within their churches, encouraging one another in the valuable work of everyday liturgy in our local parishes. Importantly, the conference offers the opportunity to meet and share experiences with others involved in church music from across the country.
The leadership team includes two LST lecturers. Steve Thompson, together with his wife Velveta, will lead a Sing Gospel workshop. Richard Hubbard will lead a Big Sing and a workshop on Ladder Conducting (a technique for teaching new songs to a congregation).
Canon Peter Gunstone (priest musician previously involved in pioneer ministry in Bradford and now Precentor at Carlisle Cathedral) will speak on ‘One heart, one voice – can people of diverse backgrounds and traditions become one people of God in worship?’
Theologian Dr Sue Price, with her specialist interests in Children’s Spirituality, the use of Godly Play and outreach work into parishes.
There will also be a workshop on the music of the Iona Community.

The NNPM is an informal group of people of many denominations, whose aim is to meet to learn from each other and experience prayer and music in common. In 2026, we celebrate our 30th anniversary.
