BMI Visit to Teen Challenge, Norwich
Over the years, it has been an enormous privilege to observe the incredible work of Teen Challenge. Teen Challenge is one of the world’s leading drug rehab centres with a high success rate for helping people become free from drugs and alcohol. A rehabilitation programme that takes men aged 18+ through the recovery from addictions. A local church in Ilford has hosted the London rehab significant part of the ‘ministry’ for multiple years. Part of the programme includes the spiritual and academic training which prepares the men with the skills they will need to return to society, re-establishing their adult responsibilities.
The ministry has recently been blessed with the gift of new premises in Norwich—a complex valued at millions of pounds. Listening to the story of how they have received these fantastic facilities has so moved BMI’s hearts.
Steve & Vel lead worship at Teen Challenge
On the 17th & 18th of March 2023, Velveta and I were invited to facilitate a worship evening and morning devotion with the lads – what an incredible honour as we worshipped, prayed, and laughed with these brave men on the road of personal destinies, God has in store for each one.
The men sang passionately and listened intently as we shared our life’s journey stories. It was challenging to hold the tears back as the ‘worship’ continued through the many conversations after the worship evening. The men did not hold back in sharing their personal stories and how thankful they were to be loved and cared for by Teen Challenge.
